Pioneer Air Museum

About
+-

In 1979 several Fairbanksans felt that something important was being lost to time: the objects that told the story of aviation in Interior Alaska. Many books had been written about the exploits of early aviators, but the planes and other objects that make up the story of aviation would be gone. The Pioneer Air Museum was organized to promote the preservation of Interior Alaska's aviation heritage. The museum opened its doors in Pioneer Park (then Alaskaland) in 1992 under the Gold Dome.
