Wednesdays, February 26 – April 22, 4:15 pm – 6:15 pm (There will not be class on March 11th during the week of Spring Break.)
Woodworking for Kids gives young folks (ages 11-14) the opportunity to develop proficiency in a wide range of woodworking tools and techniques. The benefits of woodworking are many, and include a sense of competence and confidence, increased eye-hand coordination and hand strength, exposure to mathematical thinking skills, and consideration of aesthetics. This class can serve as a stepping stone to further explorations of craft, and most kids truly appreciate the opportunity to experience the joy of working with wood. As is the case with building almost anything; design, aesthetics, math, and physics will play a role.
NOTE: This class has a partial scholarship available for a student unable to afford the full cost. Please see the details on the Scholarships page.
