Wood Fest 2019: Hands Meeting Trees


Thursday – Sunday, May 9 – 12, 2019

Wood Fest is a celebration of wood, and the craft that surrounds this marvelous resource.

We will have many events and demonstrations open to the public, several activities geared toward kids and families, short classes, a couple of slide presentations, and plenty of time to sit and whittle, learn new skills and make new friends.

Below is a list of just a few of the scheduled events:

-Open house and potluck on May 9th.
-Classes on birch bark containers, wood flower carving, steam bending, and shrink boxes.
-Birch bark canoe talk by Randy Brown.
-Philip Marshall will give a talk on rustic wood pieces.
-Whittle night on May 9th.
-Pizza party on May 10th.
-Demonstrations of spring pole lathes, froe use, tool sharpening, y-knots, shaving horses, and braiding spruce roots.
-Week in the Woods information session.
-Activities for kids and families.
