Tarot cards are a flexible and versatile tool for building self-trust, with applications for mental health and personal growth – but it helps to understand what they are and how they work. Tarot Untangled is an introductory class designed to demystify this centuries-old folk art and introduce you to ways it can enhance your current, every-day living.
The use of tarot cards does not tie you to any spiritual practice, and can be undertaken with nothing more than a logical mind or an imagination that enjoys playing with metaphor. This class is a race through the deck, connecting image and language. It will help you decide if reading tarot is a good fit to explore further.
TarotYou won’t become an expert in three hours, but you will know your own deck better (if you bring it), and leave with a packet of your own notes (if you choose to take them). These will be useful if you decide to continue studying. Whether you choose to go deeper or not, this class will invite you to see past the weird or scary pictures sometimes used in visual storytelling (movies, television), and – while I don’t recommend debating detractors – you could feel less intimidated by the fears of others.
Students should bring their own tarot deck if they have one (78 cards is standard, but some modern decks have more), and will be provided with a notecard-pack they can use in class or transfer information to later.
Any questions about my approach to tarot will probably be answered (and a few examples or suggestions of tarot decks are offered) on my website: UntanglingTarot.com
