In this salve making class, you will learn how to make Balm of Gilead salve from organic olive oil infused with aromatic balsam poplar buds. Balsam poplar has traditionally been used for healing the skin and body in a myriad of ways, and Balm of Gilead is a go-to, restorative salve for any person or family!

We will start the class with some information sharing about sustainable wildcrafting as well as about the many traditional uses of poplar for healing the skin and body. Then, we jump into the bulk of the class, which is learning the process for making a salve with beeswax and infused oil, and we will explain different variations folks can try at home. Salve MakingHopefully, all will leave the class feeling confident in their ability to replicate the process at home and can continue to make their own healing salves!

All participants will go home with their own container of the Balm of Gilead salve made in class.

We will provide all the ingredients and the containers in which to store the salve; participants will simply come ready to make a salve, enjoy good company, and the bask in the delightful smell of balsam poplar.
