An original adaptation of Gilbert & Sullivan's classic.

We are setting this production of The Pirates of Penzance on the “quintessential American beach boardwalk” in the 1990s. Our pirates, now overzealous employees of a pirate-themed mini-golf course, are distrusted by the locals for their sleazy, under the table gambling ring. The daughters are now “Alpha Delta Penzance” sorority sisters on spring break. The policemen are updated to razor scooter-riding mall cops. Despite the setting changes, the dialogue and score will be largely left in its Gilded Age grandeur.
