Ned Rozell just wrote a book on his second thru-hike of the gravel road that parallels the trans-Alaska pipeline. It’s called “summer of gravel and steel: a thru-hike of Alaska 20 years after the first.” The longtime science writer at UAF’s Geophysical Institute will guide attendees on a walk across Alaska and will discuss changes he noticed between the first hike and the second. He will also talk about the logistics necessary to help others plan their own trips. The talk lasts about 40 minutes, followed by a question-and-answer session and a book signing.
