Music & More Kathleen Fagre & Friends

For its July Music & More event, Fairbanks First United Methodist Church is excited to present an evening with Kathleen Fagre and a large group of her friends, The performance will take place in the sanctuary a 915 Second Avenue on Saturday evening July 18, beginning at 7 PM.
Kathleen is a Colorado artist/composer who, along with some very talented friends and family, will share a delightful evening of song and story. She will be sharing her journey through her original compositions for piano, cello, hammered dulcimer, and voice, plus songs from the early 1900's. There's a bit of jazz, boogie, Gospel, ragtime, folk, sing-along, and even a choral piece sung in Italian and Latin.
Kathleen and her husband David moved back to Colorado after working, flying, and playing music in Fairbanks for 17 years.
Kathleen’s performance will also help us mark the end of the fourth year of Music & More events, which began in August 2022.
To open our fifth year of Music & More programs, the featured performer for August will be Dr. Sean Dowgray from the UAF music faculty. Dr. Dowgray is a world-class mallet percussionist who will perform a solo recital on his new, recently acquired marimba. That recital will take place on Saturday, August 22, beginning at 7 PM.
And looking further ahead to September, the sanctuary will be transformed into a circus venue of sorts, as we present a talented group of local hoola-hoopers and jugglers. Details of the September event will be forthcoming as plans develop.
The church hosts these monthly (or sometimes more often) Music & More events as a community service. For four years, the series has offered programs for the whole family in an atmosphere that is convenient, safe and comfortable. Admission is free. Donations are encouraged, with most of the contributions provided to the entertainers.
