Fairbanks Fiber Festival Class

Instructor: Lynn DeFilippo

The Alder Creek Cowl is the perfect first lace project for the beginner knitter or those new to lace knitting. In this workshop you’ll learn the basics of lace knitting including: how to read directions in a chart as well as written directions, how to keep track of pattern repeats, common lace decreases, and knitting in the round, if you are not already familiar with this. We’ll also cover blocking lace and choosing yarns.

If you can knit, purl, and cast-on using the long tail method, you can knit the Alder Creek Cowl! The cowl has variations for a variety of yarn weights, and participants will receive a one-page copy of the pattern to knit, either the worsted weight or sport weight version.
