Hand-Cut Mortise and Tenon Joinery Class

Students will learn the traditional woodworking joinery technique of cutting mortise and tenon by hand, commonly used in building furniture. Class emphasis is on layout, cutting with a hand saw, and working with chisels and mallets. We will look at different types of mortise and tenon joints that are commonly used and the tools needed to make them.

 This class is pre-registration only. Please register by 2 days before the class begins. Registration will be closed after this time.

Prerequisites: Previous woodworking experience required – contact instructor for approval. (Students who have taken our Beginning Woodworking or Principles of Woodworking class in the past are pre-approved.)
