Masters On-Snow Thanksgiving Training Camp

Kick off your ski season with an unforgettable Masters Training Camp in Fairbanks, Alaska, where the snow comes early and the trails are world-class!

Over Thanksgiving break, join Olympian Rosie Frankowski and veteran coach Christina Turman, former coach of the UAF Ski Team, for four days of high-quality training, expert technique instruction, and plenty of camaraderie.

This camp is designed for adult skiers eager to sharpen their skills and enjoy the unique magic of skiing in Interior Alaska. You’ll dive into a full program that includes:

  • On-snow sessions in both skate and classic technique with one on one coaching

  • Interval and distance training tailored for masters skiers

  • Video technique analysis for personalized feedback

  • Strength training and yoga with RYT Amy Kulp to support performance and recovery

  • Participation in the NSCF’s legendary Turkey Day Relays—a fun, early-season costume race!

Beyond structured sessions, the camp is a chance to connect with fellow skiers, share stories, and build lasting friendships, all while building fitness and confidence for the season ahead.

Prerequisite: Participants should have prior skiing experience and be comfortable skiing 60 minutes at a time.

Camp Dates: Wednesday, Nov 26 - Sunday, Nov 30th

Cost: $535 (Turkey Day Relay registration is included)

Thanksgiving Week 2025

Wednesday, Nov 26

Arrive in Fairbanks

5:15 PM – Ski at Birch Hill (Light intervals + distance)

Thursday, Nov 27 – Thanksgiving Day

Morning: Wake-up yoga with RYT Amy Kulp at Birch Hill

Long ski (Overdistance 2.5–3 hrs) – with video technique capture

Afternoon: Video analysis session at Birch Hill

Optional easy jog for those who want more movement

Friday, Nov 28

Morning: NSCF Turkey Day Relays at Birch Hill

Fun early-season race! We will create camp teams. 

Afternoon: Optional easy ski or jog

Saturday, Nov 29

Morning:
Split session at Birch Hill
Group A: Distance ski + technique focus (first half), then strength in gym

Group B: Strength in gym (first half), then distance ski + technique focus

Afternoon: Video analysis at Birch Hill

Evening: Adventure headlamp ski on UAF or Goldstream Valley trails, led by coaches

Sunday, Nov 30

Morning: Wake-up yoga with RYT Amy Kulp

Optional morning ski before departure

Meals & Logistics

Breakfast & Lunch & Dinner: On your own. Snacks will be provided at times during and after workouts at Birch Hill. 

Transportation: On your own during camp. Ride sharing may be available for participants flying in—please inquire.
