Furthest North 5 & Under Qualifier Bonspiel

2026 Furthest North 5 & Under Bonspiel – January 15–18, 2026!

Calling all up-and-coming curlers! The Furthest North 5 & Under Bonspiel is back—and bigger than ever! We’ve extended the spiel to Thursday through Sunday so teams have more time for games and to explore the wonders of Alaska between matches.

Event Details:

• Dates: Jan 15 (8:00 AM) – Jan 18 (8:00 PM), 2026

• Cost: $500/team

• Team Limit: 18

• Format: 3 pools of 6 teams, 5 guaranteed games per team

• Special Rules: Timed games (30 min per team), ‘No Tick Rule,’ LSD shots before each game, legal broom head covers required.

Registration Includes:

• 5-game guarantee

• Several meals (including Alaskan potluck!)

• Discounted merch

• Other fun extras

Schedule Highlights:

Thursday:

• Morning: All-team meeting + brunch

• Afternoon: Practice sessions (possible one game per team)

• Evening: Watch regular FCC leagues (bar open!) & 5U social activities

Friday:

• Round robin games (2 per team)

• Evening: FCC Junior Curler Program Dinner Fundraiser

Saturday:

• Round robin games (2 per team)

• Evening: Alaskan Potluck Dinner (free for curlers!)

Sunday:

• Morning: Quarterfinals

• Afternoon: Semifinals & Finals (may run as late as 6 PM)

Playoffs Format:

• Top 2 teams from each pool advance

• Top 2 overall seeds get a bye into semifinals

• Quarterfinals: 3rd seed vs 6th seed, 4th seed vs 5th seed

• Semifinals: Winners face #1 and #2 seeds

• Prize: Winning team earns a spot at the 5 & Under National Championships in April 2026, Seattle

 All games will be live-streamed on the FCC YouTube Channel (links shared before the event).
