Fairbanks Visitor Industry Walk for Charity

Families, friends and community groups are invited to sign up to walk to support local non-profits. This year, to follow social distancing best practices, the event will involve a self-guided historical walk along the riverwalk beginning at Pioneer Park to downtown Fairbanks and back. Options for 1-, 2-, 3-, and 3.8-mile distances are available. Each walker will receive a snack pack for participating as food stations have been put on hold this year. Registered walkers may choose to do the walk any time between 2pm-8pm on Friday, May 14.
Walkers may register online at www.explorefairbanks.com/charitywalk through Wednesday, May 12. Late registrations will be accepted the day of the walk between 2pm-8pm. All registered walkers will be entered for a chance to win door prizes donated by local travel industry businesses. Complete the scavenger hunt for a chance to win a special door prize.
Participants are encouraged to raise as much money as possible, but a minimum registration fee of $25 for adults and $15 for children is required. Late registration the day of the walk is $30 for adults and $20 for children. All proceeds will be distributed to registered 501 (c)(3) charities. Since 2001, the “Walk for Charity” has raised more than $380,000 for as many as 60 local non-profits.
