The Fairbanks Birding Challenge is an all-ages, all-abilities, month-long outdoor scavenger hunt during spring migration in the Fairbanks North Star Borough! The Challenge is open to everyone including beginning birdwatchers, seasoned pros, and everyone in between. There is even a level for kids! You can participate as an individual, in a team, or as a family. The goal is to find all of the birds on your list within the Fairbanks North Star Borough during the month of May. All proceeds support the Alaska Songbird Institute’s Creamer’s Field Migration Station.
Each Wednesday evening during the month of May participants will be invited to join ASI staff and volunteers at a designated spot in Fairbanks to bird together. Everyone is welcome! This year we also plan to end the Birding Challenge with a picnic on Saturday morning June 4 where all participants can turn in their lists and we will draw the prize winners for each level. Details will be provided to registered participants via email.
