About

Der Schauspieldirektor (The Impresario) is a witty Mozart one-act comedy about impresario Frank trying to assemble a new theatre troupe, facing backstage chaos, rivalries, and exorbitant demands from ambitious actors and singers, particularly sopranos Madame Herz and Mademoiselle Silberklang, who clash over who gets the prima donna role and higher pay, ultimately resolving (temporarily) by agreeing to share fame and fortune for the sake of art.
