Cooking in a Dutch Oven - Main Dishes and Desserts

This class will give participants an opportunity to learn heat control with a Dutch Oven using charcoal. We will learn to judge the amount of heat to place below the oven and on top of the oven.

Students will cook a selection of the following items (menu may change slightly depending on availability of ingredients):

Roast asparagus with beef or pork (depending on student input)
Pasticcio
Baked mushrooms
Roast vegetables
Salmon pot pie
Pecan pie
Hoosier cream pie
Rhubarb crisp
Apple dumplings

The experience is intended to provide confidence in the added fun a Dutch Oven brings to the outdoor experience.
