Get ready for spring! The Folk School is joining forces with Alaska Songbird Institute to build bird nesting boxes. We received a donation of wood slabs with natural knot holes, just the perfect size for a small variety of local birds. Attend this class and build a nesting box for chickadees, nuthatches, or boreal owls.

These won’t be your typical quaint suburban bird houses, these will be fair trade, organic, locally grown, free of GMOs, gluten and dairy, recyclable, and certified 5 star plus dwellings. Nine out of ten thinking birds prefer these woodsy starter homes to musty pre-owned holes in trees. May contain moss, lichen, bark and bugs (a tasty snack for those birds).
