Community Weed Smackdown

Come join us for our annual community weed pull event on Friday, June 23rd, from 12:00 pm – 3:00 pm at Tanana Lakes Recreation Area – Pavilion. This event is open to all ages and abilities, and no experience is necessary to help us remove invasive weeds from the park.
We will provide gloves, tools, and guidance on how to identify and remove invasive weeds safely. All we ask is that you come ready to work.
Invasive weeds can harm native plant species, reduce biodiversity, and disrupt the natural balance of the ecosystem. By removing these weeds, we can help to protect Alaska's wild places from the impacts of invasive species.
Not only will you be making a positive impact on the environment, but you'll also have a chance to win some great prizes and enjoy some delicious food and refreshments! This is a wonderful opportunity to get outside, enjoy the fresh air, and meet other community members who are passionate about preserving our natural environment.
