Braiding an Oval Rug Class at The Folk School

Dates of the class: Wednesdays, January 7, 14, and 28, and February 4, 2026 (note no class on 1/21/2026)

Time of the class: 5:30 pm – 8:00 pm

Make a beautiful 2’x3’ wool rug this winter. If you’ve loved the Braided Wool Chair Pad class, this is for you. We’ll learn about making an oval, changing colors, making a zigzag pattern, tapering on an oval, and finishing with a butted rows. There will be homework! Wool will be provided.

Students will need the following: Please bring your braiding tools!

Maximum number of students: 8

Age range: 18 and up

Prerequisites: Students need to have completed the Braided Wool Chair Pad class or the equivalent. Alternate braiding experience must be cleared with the instructor prior to registering for this class.

Materials (in addition to the class fee below): $20
