Learn to make Birch bark stars in the Scandinavian tradition!

Students will create one large and two small Birch bark stars and several paper stars (for practice). If they like, students may turn their stars into ornaments with ribbon and bells. During class, the instructor will discuss how to properly harvest, prepare, and store Birch bark, and will demonstrate how to split strips of bark for basket- and star- weaving.
