Students will learn the basics of pruning and training fruit trees, with a focus on apple trees in particular. We’ll begin with an indoor informational session, then move outdoors for some hands-on discussion and practice in our orchard. Students will learn about the decisions that they will need to make as they prune trees of various ages. Students will also learn about several ways to train fruit trees, shaping them to maximize fruit production and ripening.
