Artist Talk with Miles Jordan

Miles B. Jordan will give an artists talk on Wednesday, February 8, 2023 at 6 p.m. in the Bear Gallery about his process and influence for the Yellow Chair Series, his work as a photographer and storyteller and his identity and journey as a New Orleans man who moved to Fairbanks, Alaska.

The Yellow Chair Series is a multisensory, photographic look into New Orleans, Louisiana. The images in the show are all taken in the same chair, primarily in the same backyard space, mainly on medium format color negative film, with some 35mm film and polaroids sprinkled in. The images and accompanying podcasts and videos are of people who have an intimate relationship with the city of New Orleans. The conversations reflect both New Orleans and the lives of New Orleanians.
