About
+-

Presented by Carl Tape, UAF Associate Professor of Geophysics.
Description: Where earthquakes occurred in the past, they are likely to occur again in the future. Central Alaska has experienced numerous large (M > 7) earthquakes since 1900, including in 1904, 1937, 1947, 1958, and 2002. The presentation will provide a review of notable historical earthquakes in Alaska and implications of fault activity, active tectonics, and future earthquakes.
