Bring your friends and family downtown on Wednesday May 10, 2017 from 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and join in the Arctic-themed fun! Follow the raven tracks from the Fairbanks Children’s Museum/Worthington building through the open-air food court, to the front of the performance stage and then on to the Doyon building and enjoy all the wonderful things to see, do, hear and eat along the way.

The Fairbanks Children’s Museum/Worthington building will host three programs. At the museum kids can partake in free children’s science activities including Hands on Permafrost Education, OneTree Forest Exploration, Virtual Reality Headset Experiences and more. At the Arctic Business Showcase located on the first floor you can get acquainted with close to twenty businesses including those focused on Arctic tours, Arctic energy and retail products that are cultivated in the Arctic. And lastly, on the second floor, you can listen to the Community talk “Lesson from Iceland - How to Re-Invent an Economy.”Arctic Caribou

The open-air food court will have eight concessionaires with a variety of culinary delights. Choose from local favorites like specialty tacos, sublime cupcakes and fresh popped kettle corn. The free performance stage schedule includes Fairbanks blockbusters Emily Anderson & Golden Heart Performing Arts, Pavva Iñupiaq Dancers, Cold Steel and Marc Brown & The Blues Crew.  

In the Chiefs Court of the Doyon building you can explore the artwork and find that perfect keepsake at the Alaska Native Artisan Show and Sale. Twenty-five Alaska Native artisans will have authentic work like beaded moose hide slippers and gloves, fur hats, earrings, necklaces, business card holders, paintings and more on display.

While enjoying the Celebration of the Arctic remember to get your program stamped and put your name in the hat for a chance to win one of over 20 door prizes! The big door prizes include round-trip tickets on Ravn Air, an Arctic Circle Drive Adventure with Northern Alaska Tour Company and round-trip tickets to Denali compliments of the Alaska Railroad.
