All summer long, Fairbanks plays and hosts athletic events under our spectacular midnight sun. Let the games begin...and let them continue deep into the night, with no need for artificial lighting!

Fireworks
No fireworks around here in the summer, because we have nearly 24 hour daylight. That means we save up the big light shows for those crisp winter evenings and when they happen, they are truly spectacular.

Ice Art
Up to 40,000 pounds of crystal clear ice, beautifully sculpted into a master work of art. That would sound far-fetched if it weren't so commonplace during a Fairbanks winter. The best in the world display their sculptures here, where they say the ice is the very best.

University Luminaries
America's Arctic University, the University of Alaska Fairbanks conducts an amazing array of research projects focused on Alaska, the Pacific Rim and the circumpolar North. Students from over 50 countries are enrolled in 167 degree programs within 122 disciplines.
