FCVB Hosts Next Round of AlaskaHost TrainingsApril 2, 2010
(Fairbanks, AK) -- The Fairbanks Convention & Visitors Bureau (FCVB) will host two AlaskaHost trainings in April and May at the Morris Thompson Cultural and Visitors Center., 101 Dunkel Street in downtown Fairbanks.
Customer Service Essentials (3-hour class) will be offered May 6 from 9 am-12 pm at a cost of $5 per person. This class is a condensed and revised version of the original 8-hour AlaskaHost class. Topics will include: what is customer service and why is it important?, the economic benefit of tourism to the state of Alaska; the power of positive first impressions; types of angry customers.; and how to handle angry or dissatisfied customers.
Train the Trainer (2 days, 5 participant minimum) will be offered April 29-30, from 9 am - 4 pm at a cost of$100 per person. To become an AlaskaHost trainer, one must 1) successfully complete each of the AlaskaHost classes: Customer Service Essentials; CulturalHost; Serving Customers with Disabilities; Telephone Customer Service; Alaska in your Backyard; and Serving International Visitors, and 2) Attend a 2-day "Train the Trainer" workshop. After successfully teaching the AlaskaHost class (and completing required paperwork), participants are officially certified as an AlaskaHost trainer.
